If you have your Picture This Photography Calendar this is your April 2023 image ”Gorgeous Grace Church In Bloom.”
Springtime in New York City is a sight to be seen as the city awakes from a cold, dark winter the sight of the first daffodils & magnolia bring a smile to every New Yorker.
Grace Church sits on the NE corner of Broadway & E10th St south of Union Sq on the edge of both Greenwich Village & The East Village and is beautiful year round.
Built in 1847 and lovingly restored in 2017 Grace Church is a gorgeous example of French Gothic Revival Style of architecture. Due to being located on the bend at Broadway & E 10th & the gorgeous spire it can be seen from many directions all around.
Living in SoHo for over 12 years I was no stranger to walking past this gorgeous church on a regular basis and was always blown away by the grandeur and gardens. In Spring it is particularly striking when the gardens brighten up with magnificent magnolia and beautiful blossom.
The curvature of the trees form a natural arch of blossom to draw the eye up the pathway through the gardens to the gorgeous church. It is greatly admired by locals & visitors alike and eagerly photographed in all seasons.
On the early Spring day this was captured I was taking a leisurely stroll through the Village up to Union Square Farmers Market and stopped to capture a whole collection of images due to the beautiful bloom.
